The RSA Security Conference kicks off in San Francisco this week. The Security Ledger will be there and will be bringing you coverage from the show in a variety of formats – blogging, podcasts and video. (Read our RSA Conference coverage disclosure.) We’ll use the #RSAC 2018 hashtag in our feed, as well as the #SLRSAC to indicate our at event activity.

If you’re going to be in San Francisco at the show, here are some events we’ll be participating in and that are worth checking out.
I’ll break them out by day:
Monday, April 16th
Qualys CIO/CISO Interchange Inaugural Event
Location: Four Seasons Hotel
Time: 16:00 – 18:30 PT
The CIO/CISO Interchange is a new, not for profit organization dedicated to helping C-level officers (CIO, CTOs, CISOs) navigate the security challenges of transformations such as cloud computing, so-called “Big Data” analytics, mobility and – of course – Internet of Things. CIO/CISO Interchange is vendor neutral and designed to function as an open form for discussion, debate and exchanges between C-level executives across industries. Security Ledger will be interviewing Qualys Chairman and CEO Philippe Courtot on the sidelines of this event for a special edition of our Security Ledger podcast.
Cyber Tacos Meet the Press Panel
Location: Tres Restaurant 130 Townsend Street, San Francisco
Time: 18:30 – 22:00 PT
You read that right: Cyber. Tacos. This event is hosted by W2 Communications and LaunchTech Communications. Cyber Tacos was born out of a conversation with cyber reporters at the RSA Conference in 2016 and has grown into a series of events held around the US. Security Ledger will be taking part in a Meet the Press Panel along with some of the top cyber beat reporters in the industry, including Joe Uchill from Axios, Laura Hautala from CNET, Greg Otto from CyberScoop, Fahmida Rashid from Decipher, Salvador Rodriguez from Reuters and Teri Robinson from SC Media. I hope to see you there!
Tuesday, April 17, 2018
Keynote: “Cybersecurity Silver Linings,” Rohit Ghai, RSA Corp.
Location: Moscone West Level 3
Time: 08:10 -08:35 PT

Security Ledger will be live-Tweeting from RSA President Rohit Ghai’s Cybersecurity Silver Linings keynote address first thing Tuesday morning. Rohit will be talking about that ever-controversial topic: the “ROI of Security.”
In particular, he’ll talk about how to make risk the North Star when having discussions and evaluating decisions and investments in security among the C-suite, the BOD, regulators and policy makers. Check it out!
Panel: “Cryptographer’s Panel”
Location: Moscone West Level 3
Time: 09:20 – 10:05 PT
Security Ledger will be live-Tweeting the Cryptographer’s Panel from Moscone West on Tuesday morning. The panel, which harkens back to the origins of the RSA Conference, is always a highlight of the Conference. With issues of information privacy and security now at the very center of cultural debates about privacy, civil liberties and security, this panel offers the opportunity to hear some of the founders of the field of cryptography discuss both current and future challenges to the industry. This year’s panel, moderated by RSA CTO Zulfikar Ramzan features Whitfield Diffie of Cryptomathic, Paul Kocher a noted security researcher and consultant, Signal founder Moxie Marlinspike and two thirds of the original “RSA” team: Ronald Rivest of the MIT Institute and a Professor at MIT and Adi Shamir, Borman Professor of Computer Science at The Weizmann Institute, Israel.
Wednesday April 18, 2018
