In-brief: Tune in to our conversation with Dell CISO Alan Daines on Friday, May 29th at 1:00 PM ET. Click the image above to register!

The role of the CISO is changing as we speak. It’s a change driven by many factors: technology, laws and regulations, the changing nature of business. That’s why our series of conversations with CISOs has been so interesting and valuable. At a point in time in which there’s so much flux and innovation in the role of CISO, it has been great to speak with folks like Jonathan Trull, the CISO of Qualys, or retired Lt. General Rhett Hernandez, who helped stand up the U.S. Army’s Cyber Command.

Alan Daines serves as Executive Director and Chief Information Security Officer of Dell Cybersecurity.

We have another great conversation coming up next week with another innovative CISO: Alan Daines, the chief information security officer at Dell Inc.

Alan will join me and Anup Ghosh, CEO of the firm Invincea to talk about the changing role of the CISO at Dell. Among other things, we’ll talk about how the IT security function has moved from the recesses of Dell’s IT group to take a leading role in Dell’s corporate governance, reporting directly to Dell’s Office of General Counsel and with input into a wide range of issues, from risk management and compliance to legal ethics and security.

We’ll talk about the changing (and challenging) role of the CISO, and how security issues like Heartbleed are managed in diversified, global products and services firms like Dell.

Join us next Friday, May 29th at 1:00 PM for our conversation with Alan!
