In-brief: Join Security Ledger and Invincea today at 1:00 PM ET for a chat with Gen. Rhett Hernandez, former commander of U.S. Army Cyber Command.

A note to Security Ledger readers that, along with our friends at Invincea, we’re hosting a great hangout and discussion this afternoon with Gen. Rhett Hernandez (ret), one of the U.S. Military’s foremost cyber warriors and the former head of U.S. Army’s Cyber Command.

Our talk will focus on how to identify the main challenges facing security officers in today’s security environment. As with our other Conversations with a CISO, questions will be taken during the event and responses will be given in real time.

Lieutenant General Hernandez will join me and Anup Ghosh, Founder and CEO of Invincea for an wide-ranging conversation about the most pressing challenge of our time: securing our nation, our economy and ourselves from sophisticated and persistent cyber attacks.

As head of US Army Cyber Command, Hernandez was responsible for planning, coordinating, and integrating the network operations and defense of all US Army networks. He also was tasked with conducting cyberspace operations in support of Army operations. Lieutenant General Hernandez used his command to operationalize cyberspace and improve Army capabilities in the cyberspace domain. In his role as head of US Cyber Command, Hernandez was on the front line of our military’s battle against sophisticated cyber adversaries, including nation-backed online attacks.
